A short presentation of Fanatisk Film!
Fanatisk Film, as a project, began in the middle of the 90’s. There was an ambition to make a magazine, a regular paper magazine. It was an incredible lot of job and the magazine only survived for one number. But the idea was never lost and Fanatisk Film was resurrected in different contexts during the years to come.
You could say that the present version of Fanatisk Film was born 2004. We created a few guidelines to follow. We would write about movies that other seemed to ignore, we would treat all kinds of movies in a serious way even if they wasn’t the most loved films by other critics. To emphasis on the more obscure and lesser know gems felt like the obvious choice, but we never closed the door on the opportunity to write about just about anything.
Our focus is still on the odd and extreme and quality reviews in Swedish, but according to our guidelines we still write lots of reviews about mainstreams films as well. We have about 1000 page views when this is written and is provided with reviewing copies from some of the leading distributors in Sweden: Darkdisc, Njutafilms, Atlantic Film, Noble Entertainment, Studio S Entertainment, Warner Home Video, SF, Sickfilms.se, Universal and Dark Entertainment.
Recently we’ve discovered that Sweden is too small for us, we therefore began translating some of our reviews to English. With hundreds of reviews it’s a slow job but we'll get there eventually and now we’ve finally come around to creating a whole new section for the English translations.
If you’re a filmmaker or a distributor and want your
movie reviewed here, please get in touch with us!

My preferences are Old Italian b-horror flick from the 70’s really. But that doesn’t stand in the way for having the shelves full of classic by Chaplin and Hitchcock or modern stuff like Tim Burton and Luc Besson. I love extreme movies of all kinds and those where everything isn’t served on a silver platter. I also like Sleaze, WIP, Nunsploitation and other subgenres med obviously like all kind of movies, the latest Barbie film or the most serious drama known to man. It really makes no difference!

My main interest is the
influence of horror and I’m very passionate about it. There’s
a lot of other stuff in the shelves too though, Disaster movies and
film that are based on true events are very interesting. There is also
some Drama, Thrillers, Action and even some erotica.
